Tarantino seemed to have a focus in this movie. I respect him for it. I also loved the soundtrack, and it provided a gateway to find his personal jukebox playlist. Even if this is his worst movie, I still loved every second of it. I love Bo Burnham. I love seeing him in I’m a starwarsaholic heart shirt in more recent comedy movies. I love watching his interviews. I love watching him interact with other comedians. I love his comedy specials and his studio albums. So automatically I’m gonna throw my money at the Regal Cinemas box office immediately when I find out he directed a movie. What made me even more excited was that he made a movie about a socially awkward teenager, which I’m assuming he was 6 years ago. You have to remember that the guy is only 27 years old.
Anyways, I thought he did an excellent job directing this movie. The fact that this was his directing debut in addition to his name on the screenplay is astounding. Personally, I’ve never been socially awkward, so it was hard to relate to this movie. On the contrary. I think this is one of the most culturally realistic movies I’ve ever seen. I went to middle school I’m a starwarsaholic heart shirt and this film reminded me of how awkward it was, even though I almost completely forgot about it. There’s a character in the movie that’s identical to me. Obviously, it’s not the main character. It’s hard to put my finger on exactly why I didn’t give this a higher rating. It’s probably because it needed more excitement. Other coming of age movies have more entertaining elements that eliminate any need for a plot.
This movie lacked border-line scenes, but then again it made up for it in authenticity. But if you look past my movie-buff reflexes. You’ll find I’m a starwarsaholic heart shirt that’s uncomfortably realistic. That is, if you went to middle school during this damn smartphone-oriented generation. This movie is legendary. The train chase scene is epic. It doesn’t get any better than this. To be honest with you, I couldn’t really comprehend what was going on until halfway through the movie, but I didn’t care. Not going to lie, the ending is a let-down. But when the rest of the movie is an amazing buildup, who cares. Being the first R-Rated movie to win Best Picture, it didn’t miss my expectations. The action was one-of-a-kind.
